Job summary

MBDA is offering a 10-week placement in the Weapon System Algorithms & Performance (WSAP) team. You will work on developing and optimising algorithms for weapon systems, gaining exposure to system-level design and emerging technologies.

The role is hybrid, with 2–3 days on-site and BPSS security checks after offer stage. The position suits undergraduates in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science with an interest in mathematics and programming in MATLAB or Python.

Qualifications

• Undergrad student in Engineering, Physics, Maths or CS.
• Interest in applying mathematical techniques to engineering problems.
• Experience in programming for scientific/engineering applications (MATLAB, Python) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise algorithms for weapon systems within WSAP.
• Collaborate with MBDA project teams to deliver algorithm components on time, on cost and on quality.
• Explore machine learning techniques to enhance weapon system capabilities.
