Job summary

MBDA in Bristol is offering an Undergraduate Placement 2027 as a Weapon Systems Algorithms Engineer. You will join the WSAP team to build algorithms and performance models for future weapon systems, with hands-on projects and exposure to real MBDA programmes.

Starting September 2027 for 1 year, salary £24,460, dynamic on-site 2-3 days per week, BPSS security checks, with potential graduate opportunities and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current undergrad working towards a degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
• Strong interest in mathematics and applying mathematical techniques to engineering problems.
• Experience in programming for scientific/engineering applications (e.g. MATLAB, Python) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide system-level technical support to MBDA projects.
• Develop and evaluate cutting-edge algorithms and performance models.
• Gain exposure to weapon system architecture, performance modelling and early concepting.
