Job summary

MBDA invites undergraduates to join the Weapon System Algorithms & Performance (WSAP) team for a 10-week placement starting June 2027. You will help develop and evaluate algorithms, supporting future concepts and weapon system architecture while gaining exposure to machine learning and performance modeling.

You will work in a hybrid environment, with on-site days 2–3 per week, and benefit from training resources and career development opportunities as you contribute to high-profile MBDA projects.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate working towards a degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
• Interest in mathematics and applying mathematical techniques to engineering problems.
• Experience in programming for scientific/engineering applications (e.g. MATLAB, Python) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Routing algorithms for long-range strike weapons
• Operator decision aids for strike mission planning
• Threat evaluation & weapon assignment algorithms for air defence
• Multi-weapon co-operation
• Application of machine learning techniques to air-to-air combat
