Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking an Instrument, Control & Automation Technician to service Rye Meads STW and nearby sites. The role covers installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of water production assets, with emphasis on SCADA and PLC systems.

You will liaise with contractors and provide technical guidance. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification (HNC/NVQ3) and PLC/SCADA experience, with full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
• Preferably 18th Edition (BS7671).
• A good, practical understanding of operational plant and control systems is essential.
• Desirable knowledge of Wonderware and ClearSCADA.
• Knowledge and experience with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen-Bradley), including management and programming.
• Ability to read circuit diagrams and fault-find; experience with inverter drives.
• Experience calibrating and maintaining front-line instrumentation.
• Excellent communicator and team player with ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of water production assets (level instrumentation, flow meters, turbidity monitors).
• Work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and Process control networks.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers as needed.
• Provide specialist technical advice and training support for technical apprentices.
