Job summary

Southern Water is seeking an Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician to maintain and improve ICA systems across multiple sites in Sussex. The role ensures compliance, reliability and efficiency of control systems while supporting continuous improvement.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, calibration and programming on telemetry, analysers, dosing equipment, PLCs and HMIs, with responsibility for documentation and site network maintenance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering OR time-served apprenticeship
• Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems
• Strong fault-finding skills and problem solving
• Full UK driving licence required
• Live within 45 mins of sites

Responsibilities

• Planned, reactive & proactive maintenance including fault finding, calibration and testing on telemetry, analysers, dosing equipment, control networks and instrumentation
• Implementing process improvements and documenting work in a timely manner
• Diagnosing control system faults on PLCs (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, etc.)
• Backups and modifications of HMI & SCADA systems
• Setup and maintenance of site control networks and instrumentation calibration
