Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Instrumentation, Control & Automation technician for the Bishops Stortford STW site. You will ensure safe, efficient operation and support asset performance to manufacturers' standards.

Role includes installations, commissioning, maintenance and repairs of water production assets, with strong focus on Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, SCADA, and process networks. 38 hours weekly with standby and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
• 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
• Good understanding of operational plant and control systems.
• Experience with Wonderware and ClearSCADA desirable.
• Knowledge of relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen-Bradley), including programming.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain, and repair water production assets including level instrumentation and flow meters.
• Work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process control networks.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers as needed.
• Provide technical advice and training support for apprentices.
