Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join our Bishops Stortford team. The role covers installations, commissioning, and maintenance of water production assets, with strong emphasis on PLCs and SCADA systems.

You will work with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, Wonderware, and ClearSCADA, ensuring safety and regulatory standards are met.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC level or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control & automation.
• 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
• Good understanding of operational plant and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair water production assets including level instrumentation and flow meters.
• Work with SCADA, PLCs and process control networks to sustain performance.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers where required.
• Provide technical advice and training support for apprentices.
