Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Technical Director to join the Infrastructure Planning and Environmental Assessment team in the UK. The role involves leading environmental inputs to large-scale water infrastructure projects, directing multidisciplinary teams, and delivering bids and project execution across the lifecycle.

You will work with environmental specialists and engineers to improve environmental performance, drive strategic growth, and manage recruitment, programme delivery, and budgets

Qualifications

• Experience leading environmental assessments for major water schemes (SROs or NSIPs)
• Strong report writing and review capabilities with attention to quality
• Proven track record in developing and upskilling internal teams
• Evidence of market understanding and ability to drive business growth
• Confident in engaging with clients, regulators, and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental elements of large-scale, long-term infrastructure projects
• Direct and manage recruitment, bidding, project teams, delivery and finances
• Provide environmental advice and support to clients and project managers
• Promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement across projects
• Develop proposals for complex opportunities and lead strategic bids
