Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead our Infrastructure Planning and Environmental Assessment work. You will drive delivery of strategic environmental assessments for water sector plans and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outputs.

This role requires deep knowledge of environmental assessment processes, strong leadership, and the ability to win work through innovative approaches and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs) and coordinating larger environmental studies.
• Strong understanding of SEA regulations, case law, and guidance.
• Proven ability to shape plan-making and support decision-making in water sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate delivery of complex environmental assessments for water sector plans.
• Manage project teams, bids, and client relationships.
• Drive business development and opportunities with regulators and stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop internal teams to grow capability in SEA and related assessments.
• Promote health, safety and quality across projects.
