WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead environmental elements of large-scale water infrastructure projects. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, oversee recruitment, bidding, project delivery and financial performance, and provide strategic environmental guidance to clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience leading environmental assessments for major water schemes (e.g., SROs)
• Familiar with Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA) and WFD assessments
• Excellent written/verbal communication; strong report writing and QA
• Proven people management and capability to upskill internal teams
• Strong market and water sector understanding; identify growth opportunities
• Confident engaging with clients, regulators and stakeholders

Responsabilités

• Lead environmental elements of large-scale, long-term infrastructure projects
• Direct and manage recruitment, bidding, project teams, delivery and financials
• Provide environmental advice to clients, project managers and colleagues
• Collaborate with environmental specialists, clients and engineers to promote sustainable design
• Develop proposals for complex opportunities and lead bids and frameworks
• Drive innovative techniques like Digital Environmental Impact Assessment and Technical Excellence
• Promote team culture and support problem solving to achieve goals
• Maintain health and safety standards and uphold wellbeing culture
