Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Process Operator for the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Project at Histon. You will operate the effluent treatment plant, monitor process parameters, perform routine sampling and laboratory checks, record data, and respond to alarms.

Collaboration with the Area Operations Manager and maintenance teams is essential. The role includes on-call participation, remote monitoring where available, and site attendance to restore or maintain plant operation.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in process/industrial/wastewater environments.
• Follow site procedures and safe systems of work.
• Accurate routine sampling and lab testing.
• Recognise abnormal conditions and escalate as needed.
• Interpret data and act within defined limits.
• Use computers/digital systems for data entry and records.
• Communicate clearly with team and client personnel.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Operate the ETP safely and effectively per procedures and process limits.
• Perform routine plant rounds, monitor equipment and process parameters.
• Take corrective actions within limits and record outcomes.
• Conduct routine sampling and laboratory analysis; ensure accurate results.
• Maintain daily operation logs and stock/consumable records.
• Respond to alarms and incidents; provide handovers and KPI reporting.
• Coordinate with maintenance and technical support as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance and energy efficiency.
