Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to deliver innovative solutions for wastewater treatment projects. You will lead mechanical design and system integration, from site surveys to detailed design and tender pricing, while working with civil, process, electrical, ICA and H&S teams.

You will manage procurement, subcontractors and site progress, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered status preferred.
• At least 3 years of proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in water and wastewater.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines (civil, electrical, process, etc.) and provide technical and commercial guidance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of managing project changes.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in mechanical design and construction in water/wastewater sectors.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project is desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and system integration for water and wastewater projects; oversee all stages from site surveys to tender pricing.
• Collaborate with civil, process, electrical, ICA, and H&S teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
• Manage procurement and equipment selection (pumps, valves, tanks, pipework) and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors to meet objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety.
• Prepare detailed project plans, reports, and status updates for clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.
