Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Process Operator to run the Effluent Treatment Plant at Histon. You will monitor plant performance, carry out routine sampling, log data accurately and respond to alarms to keep processes within consent limits.

Join a team that works closely with the Area Operations Manager, uses CMMS and SCADA tools, and participates in on-call rotations to maintain safe, compliant operations at the manufacturing site.

Qualifications

• Experience in process, utilities or wastewater operations.
• Ability to follow site procedures and safety rules.
• Capable of routine sampling and lab testing with accuracy.
• Mechanical awareness and fault recognition at first line.
• Ability to read operating data, alarms and trends.
• Proficient using computers for data entry and records.
• Good communication and teamwork, able to work independently.
• Willingness to join on-call rota and attend site as needed.
• Experience with DAF or anaerobic digestion is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate the ETP safely and effectively following procedures.
• Perform routine plant rounds and inspect pumps, valves and detectors.
• Monitor process params and take action within limits.
• Sample and test to monitor performance and compliance.
• Identify abnormal conditions and escalate as needed.
• Respond to alarms; support remote assessment and site visits.
• Keep accurate daily logs, lab results and stock usage.
• Escalate regulatory breaches and safety concerns immediately.
• Manage stock levels and support deliveries and maintenance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and optimisation trials.
