Job summary

Langdons is hiring a Warehouse Supervisor to lead a designated warehouse team and ensure safe, efficient operations in line with food safety standards. You will oversee receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, monitor temperatures and packaging, and address issues as they arise.

The role requires experience in warehouse leadership, a relevant qualification, and a current MHE licence. Strong communication, organisation and coaching abilities are essential, with a 4-on-4-off night shift pattern

Qualifications

• Experience leading a warehouse team or working towards Level 3 Management.
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
• Up-to-date licence for designated mechanical handling equipment.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to motivate and coach others and work to targets.

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching and supporting the warehouse team to deliver safe, efficient and consistent performance.
• Overseeing the receipt, storage and dispatch of customer goods with correct temperatures, packaging and labelling.
• Ensuring quality, hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards are maintained and addressing issues.
• Promoting a safe working environment by identifying hazards and ensuring equipment is used safely.
• Resolving operational issues, including damaged goods and incomplete consignments, and communicating with colleagues and customers.
• Supporting management with team cover and deputising when required.

What We Do

STEF Langdons delivers chilled and frozen food to almost any location across the UK and Ireland within 24 hours, supported by 12 depots and a fleet of over 500 vehicles.

The Role

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll lead a designated warehouse team, ensuring a safe, efficient operation and that customer goods are handled in line with company, food safety and quality standards.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading, coaching and supporting the warehouse team to deliver safe, efficient and consistent performance.
• Overseeing the receipt, storage and dispatch of customer goods, including correct temperatures, packaging and labelling.
• Ensuring quality, hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards are maintained, addressing issues and escalating concerns where necessary.
• Promoting a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards and ensuring equipment is used safely.
• Resolving operational issues, including damaged goods and incomplete consignments, and communicating with colleagues and customers where required.
• Supporting management with team cover and deputising when required.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience of leading a warehouse team, or working towards a Level 3 Management or equivalent qualification.
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
• An up-to-date licence for designated mechanical handling equipment.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to motivate and coach others, manage changing priorities and work to targets and deadlines.
• The confidence to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging conversations.
• A willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
