Job summary

STEF Langdons is recruiting a Warehouse Operative in Bridgwater, Somerset. The role covers receiving, storing and dispatching goods, with a salary between £24,880.93 and £30,077.19 plus benefits. Shifts include 14:00–22:00 and 23:30–09:00, with a fixed term pattern available.

The company delivers chilled and frozen foods across the UK and Ireland. You will ensure goods are handled safely, checked on arrival, loaded for dispatch and kept to hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Up-to-date licence for designated mechanical handling equipment.
• Good IT and Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse, food safety and health & safety procedures.
• Good communication, organisation and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to work to targets and deadlines, and function well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and checking incoming loads, including packaging and labelling.
• Handling and securing stock in line with food safety requirements.
• Preparing loads for dispatch and loading vehicles.
• Completing quality, cleanliness and hygiene checks.
• Identifying and addressing hazards to maintain a safe working environment.

What We Do

STEF Langdons delivers chilled and frozen food to almost any location across the UK and Ireland within 24 hours, supported by 12 depots and a fleet of over 500 vehicles.

The Role

As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll help ensure customer goods are received, handled, stored and dispatched safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Receiving and checking incoming loads, including packaging and labelling.
• Handling and securing stock in line with food safety requirements.
• Preparing loads for dispatch and loading vehicles.
• Completing quality, cleanliness and hygiene checks.
