Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, Chorley site, is recruiting an Operations Controller to support daily warehouse operations on a full-time basis. The role covers inbound receipts and outbound loads, ensuring schedules are met and drivers are managed on site.

You will issue instructions, control outbound paperwork, and communicate issues to Shift Managers to minimise disruption. A hands-on, team-focused approach and solid IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with high attention to detail.
• Team player capable of using own initiative.
• Strong on-site systems knowledge.
• Experience with Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication with drivers and hauliers.
• Excellent time management and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing outbound schedule to meet collection/delivery times.
• Issuing instructions to staff to maintain smooth throughput.
• Controlling outbound paperwork with 100% accuracy.
• Acting as initial point of contact for drivers on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers to minimise disruption.
• Participating as an active operations team member and suggesting improvements.
