Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting an Operations Controller for the Minworth site. The role covers day-to-day warehouse operations, focusing on inbound receipts and outbound loads with a 4-on/4-off days pattern from 6am to 6pm.

You will manage outbound schedules, instruct staff, control paperwork, and be the first point of contact for drivers. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and on-site systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.
