Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is seeking an Operations Controller for our Chorley site on a full-time permanent basis. You will manage outbound schedules, issue instructions to staff, and ensure accurate paperwork for outbound vehicles, while acting as the first point of contact for drivers on site.

The role operates on rotating shifts (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm), Monday to Friday. You will work with the transport team to minimise disruptions, provide thorough handovers, and promote a culture

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with attention to detail.
• Team player with initiative.
• In-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication and professional attitude towards drivers and customers.
• Excellent time management and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage the outbound schedule to meet collection and delivery times.
• Issue instructions to staff to maintain smooth inbound/outbound flow.
• Control paperwork for outbound vehicles with 100% accuracy.
• Be the initial point of contact for on-site drivers.
• Communicate issues to Shift Managers promptly to minimise disruptions.
• Contribute as an active member of the operations team to improve efficiency, customer focus and quality.
• Maintain good communication with transport providers to avoid late collections and delivery failures.
• Produce thorough handovers highlighting issues and current state of play.
