Job summary

DPD UK is seeking energetic Warehouse Logistic Operatives to join our Smethwick site. This permanent role offers 40 hours per week across shifts, with a starting salary of £30,995 rising to £32,495 after MHE training.

You will load and unload, scan and pick parcels, use WMS and various MHE equipment, and work as part of a close team committed to safe, efficient delivery services.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading, scanning, picking and packing parcels (up to 25 kg).
• Using WMS systems to ensure correct delivery and paperwork alignment.
• Transfer of goods to storage and replenishment tasks, plus flagging discrepancies.
• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as Counter Balance, Flexi Trucks, and Man Riders.
• Adhere to Health, Safety and Security policies and communicate with stakeholders.

Job Description

• Contract Type: Permanent / 40 hours per week
• Salary: £30,995 - increasing to £32,495 on completion of relevant MHE training
• Hours of Work: Mon - Fri 16:30 - 01:00 - Sat & Sun - 15:00 - 23:30
• Days of Work: 5 days per week

DPD Logistics are a fulfilment warehouse; we hold stock for a number of key customers at our site in Tamworth and as a Warehouse Logistics Operative you will be required to pick and pack to meet consumer demand.

This is a fast-paced, physical role and you will be on your feet all shift but as a warehouse operative you will be the backbone of our logistics operation playing an important role in DPD continuing to deliver outstanding service. Key duties include;

• Loading and unloading, scanning, picking and packing parcels, including handling items up to 25kg
• Using our tech and WMS to ensure every parcel gets to the right place, checking paperwork matches physical delivery
• Transfer of goods to suitable storage, carrying out replenishment tasks, and highlighting any discrepancies
• Operation of different Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including Counter Balance, Flexi Trucks and Man Riders
• Comply with Health, Safety and Security policies, communicating with customers, suppliers and third party hauliers
