Job summary

Marks Sattin is seeking a first-line IT support specialist to provide functional and technical support for a warehouse IT system and end-user technologies. You will diagnose issues, restore service quickly, log incidents, and escalate when needed.

Training will be provided on the warehouse application. Responsibilities include supporting warehouse users, performing triage and troubleshooting, basic Linux administration, and handling Oracle/SQL queries while maintaining SLA-driven incident

Qualifications

• Experience in a 1st line / service desk / onsite support role or equivalent customer-facing IT support.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset; able to work calmly under pressure.
• Working knowledge of Windows/Microsoft end-user environments (desktop support, basic AD exposure helpful).
• Practical Linux skills (basic command line, service/log checks, networking basics).
• Exposure to Oracle and/or SQL with the ability to run basic queries.
• Strong communication skills with non-technical users in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st line support to warehouse users via phone, ticketing system and in-person support.
• Deliver functional support for the warehouse IT system with user guidance and basic configuration tasks.
• Triage, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day IT incidents (hardware, apps, access, connectivity).
• Carry out basic Linux administration/support activities (logs, services, permissions).
• Support and troubleshoot Oracle/SQL issues and liaise with DB/admin teams as needed.
• Log, prioritise and manage incidents in line with SLAs; keep users updated.
• Escalate complex issues to 2nd/3rd line teams or vendors with documented diagnostics.
• Contribute to problem management by identifying recurring issues and proposing fixes.
• Support shift operations and handovers to maintain continuity.
