Job summary

ABM UK is recruiting a Cleaning/Waste Operative for a permanent, full-time role in the Wynyard area. The position follows a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 38.5 hours per week, and pays £12.94 per hour.

You'll work in a warehouse environment performing janitorial tasks and waste handling, including washrooms, break areas, and production spaces. Training is provided and PPE is supplied; DBS checks and compliance with safety rules are required.

Qualifications

• Basic DBS check and knowledge of health and safety requirements or willingness to learn.
• Willingness to participate in drug and alcohol testing.
• Physically fit for a cleaning/waste operative role.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out janitorial and waste removal tasks in a warehouse environment.
• Clean welfare areas and production spaces, internal and external.
• Handle waste using approved streams and prepare for transport.
• Operate walk-behind and ride-on sweepers and scrubber-dryers; maintain equipment.
• Respond to spills or client callouts and communicate with the team.
• Wear PPE and follow health and safety policies.
• Undergo full training on cleaning methods and equipment.
