Job summary

Americold is seeking a Warehouse Operative at our Spalding site to work in the Blast Freeze section. This role involves general operative tasks and forklift duties in a temperature-controlled environment.

Key responsibilities include loading/unloading, pallet transfers, WMS-based receiving/dispatching, and adherence to SOPs, HACCP, and health & safety standards. Hourly rate is £13.13 with a weekly shift premium, working 7:00am–5:00pm, Sunday to Thursday.

Here at Americold, we are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative based at our Spalding site.

This role is based within our Blast Freeze section, where you'll be responsible for a mix of general operative and forklift duties in a temperature-controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading trucks as required
• Transferring pallets from loading bays to designated storage areas
• Operating within the Blast Freeze area, ensuring product integrity is maintained at all times
• Receiving and dispatching pallets via Warehouse Management System (WMS) using handheld scanners
• Following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Carrying out general warehouse duties, including manual handling and product handling
• Supporting packing and preparation of products for distribution
• Adhering strictly to HACCP food safety standards and company procedures
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety at all times

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Flexible approach and willingness to adapt
• Good communication skills

Desirable

• Forklift licence (desirable but not essential - training can be provided)

Hourly Rate

£13.13 per hour, £27.56 per week shift premium
