Job summary

The Ward Coordinator role within Bristol NHS Foundation Trust supports the patient’s journey on the Gastroenterology/Endocrine/Haematology ward. It combines proactive administration with frontline patient care to help ensure a high standard of care and a smooth patient experience.

The post is a shared position covering reception from Monday to Saturday, with weekend work and rotating early to late shifts (7.30am – 6pm).

Qualifications

• Pro-active, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Able to work under pressure and handle competing demands.
• Computer confident and willing to undertake NHS training on multiple applications.

Responsibilities

• Admit, discharge and transfer patients on the ward.
• Answer telephone enquiries from internal/external departments and relatives.
• Organise transport, order stationery and coordinate ward requests to maintain flow.
