Ward Clerk

We are looking for a part‑time Ward Clerk to support the clinical and multi‑disciplinary team in the D4 ward at our Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital site. This role is required to work Monday to Wednesday.

Main duties of the job
  • Ensure availability and preparation of patient hospital notes and documentation for all patients admitted to the service.
  • Ensure availability of patient hospital notes for clinical audit/Risk & Governance departments.
  • Use the case note tracking system to record locations of case notes; maintain the system and enable staff to locate notes within 24 hours.
  • Liaise with medical secretaries and other hospitals to locate missing case notes; if unsuccessful, elevate to Operational/Clinical Manager.
  • Complete electronic discharge documentation.
  • Collate and file documentation appropriately in hospital case notes.
  • Book patient transport when requested.
  • Answer telephone in a timely manner.
  • Greet visitors to the ward.
  • Assist senior staff where required.
