Job summary

Chewton Glen seeks a professional Waiter to support the Restaurant and Room Service teams with service that reflects the highest 4*/5* hospitality standards. You will be comfortable explaining dishes and ensuring guest satisfaction in a busy luxury setting.

Maintain precise mise en place, take ownership of station readiness, and work closely with the Head Waiter to uphold the hotel’s reputation for excellence in guest experiences. Salary is £26,436 per year with approx.

Qualifications

Experience in working in a 4* or 5* hotel restaurant desirable.
Experience working to Rosette standard desirable.
Keen eye for detail, organisational skills and confident in communicating with the team.

Responsibilities

To be confident that the service is at all times performed in a professional manner.
Fully conversant with every dish and provide confident explanations when requested.
Ensure guests’ wishes are met and transport Room Service to the standard set by the Company.
Take ownership to ensure dishes are transported to the Restaurant and the station is clean.
Report comments/complaints to Head Waiter with integrity and discretion.
Liaise with Head Waiter to ensure mise en place is correct and ready for service.
Assist Head Waiter to ensure the station is ready for service.
Ensure trays to rooms are checked by Head Waiter before delivery.
Be confident to use guests’ names at all times.

Aim of theWaiterrole

To assist the restaurant management team in the organisation of service in the Restaurant and Room Service areas.

Responsibilities of theWaiter rrole

To be confident that the service is at all times performed in a professional manner and to the style as specified by the Restaurant Manager.
To be fully conversant with every dish served in the Restaurant and to provide a confident explanation if requested.
To ensure that all guests’ wishes are met so far as is reasonably possible. Showing passion and pride for the hotel
To transport and serve Room Service to the standard laid by the Company.
To take ownership and ensure that all dishes are transported to the Restaurant and that the station is clean and clear throughout the service.
To report all comments/complaints/problems to the Head Waiter, showing integrity and discretion.
To liaise with the Head Waiter to ensure and be confident that the preparations and mise en place are correct and to the standard set by the Company.
To assist the Head Waiter in ensuring the station is ready for service.
To ensure that all trays taken to the rooms are checked by the Head Waiter before being delivered.
To be confident to use guests’ names at all times.

Waiter- About you

Experience in working in a 4* or 5* hotel restaurant is desirable
Experience working to a Rosette standard is desirable
You will have keen eye for detail, organisational skills and confident in communicating with the team
