Job summary

IVC Evidensia’s Oak Veterinary Group in Fishguard is seeking an experienced Receptionist to join the friendly Support Team. You will be the first point of contact for clients and patients, managing appointments, payments and enquiries while supporting the clinical team.

This full-time role involves the Practice Management System, stock duties, and occasional coverage at Haverfordwest & St David's practices. A patient, team-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on service and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment.
• Experience handling appointments, payments and client communications.
• Willingness to support the clinical and admin teams in a veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer care for clients and patients in a calm, friendly manner.
• Oversee bookings, capture client data and maintain the Practice Management System daily.
• Register clients with accurate records and ensure confidentiality.
• Process client payments during appointments and manage follow-up processes.
• Support prescription preparation and related client communications.
• Assist with insurance claims handling and routine admin tasks.
• Maintain waiting areas and consult rooms; assist with stock rotation and storage.
• Interact confidently with domestic pets and handle animals as required.
• Perform other receptionist support duties as needed.
