Job summary

Riverside Veterinary Centre in Belper is seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team on a full-time fixed-term basis for 6 months. You will be the first point of contact for clients, greeting and assisting with appointments and enquiries.

The role requires excellent communication, the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy practice, and a friendly, professional approach. 40-hour week, 1 in 3 Saturdays, training and development opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role with a focus on service and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism.
• Answering telephone calls and handling client enquiries.
• Booking and managing appointments efficiently.
• Providing information on services and appointment processes.
• Handling pre-authorisations and insurance where applicable.
• Taking payments and processing transactions.
• Completing daily administrative tasks.
• Maintaining a clean, welcoming reception and waiting area.
• Relaying client queries to veterinary staff and following up.
• Supporting ongoing client communication and follow-ups.
