Vets4Pets Gateshead is hiring a friendly Receptionist for 20 hours per week, rota across mornings and Saturdays. You will greet clients, answer phones, manage emails, handle admin tasks, booking appointments, processing prescriptions, and maintain patient records.

Training is provided and you’ll join a supportive team inside Pets at Home at Cameron Retail Park. We offer funded CPD and in-house career development opportunities, 20% discount at partners, a pension scheme and competitive holiday

• Customer-facing experience preferred.
• Calm, organised and able to multi-task in a busy environment.
• Good communication with clients and colleagues.
• Reception or veterinary front-desk experience welcome but not essential.
• Comfortable with computers and basic administration.

Receptionist - Vets4Pets Gateshead - 20 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Receptionist to join our team at Vets4Pets Gateshead.

Unlike many veterinary practices, we are individually locally owned and managed. We are a 100% small animal practice with a fantastic client base and a team that takes genuine pride in the care and service we provide.

We are looking for the right person rather than the perfect CV. If you are friendly, organised and genuinely motivated to make a difference for pets and their owners, we will provide full training to our standards.

The position

20 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, on a rota that includes a mixture of morning and evening shifts, with Saturdays worked on a rotating basis. We are open 9am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 6pm on Saturday.

What we are looking for

• A warm, confident manner with clients, both in person and on the phone.
• The ability to stay calm and multi-task in a busy environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
• Relevant customer-facing experience. Veterinary or reception experience is welcome but not essential.
• Comfortable with computers and basic administration.

What you will be doing

• Completing administration tasks including inpatient paperwork, insurance claim forms and daily cashing up.
• Providing clear communication between clients and the veterinary team.
• Booking appointments, processing prescription orders and maintaining accurate client and patient records on our practice management system.
• Keeping the reception area tidy and welcoming.
• Guiding clients through our health plan options, with full training provided.
