Job summary

DNA Vetcare in Deal is seeking a friendly Veterinary Receptionist to join our award-winning team. You will greet clients and pets, book appointments, process payments and help maintain digital records while supporting the vet and nurse teams.

The role is full-time, 30–40 hours per week with a share of 1:6 Saturdays. A passion for animals, strong communication, and clinic software experience (RxWorks a MASSIVE plus) will help you thrive in our warm, professional environment.

About The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Receptionist to join the team at our award-winning Lakeview Vets. Located in the beautiful seaside town of Deal, Lakeview is at the heart of the community offering a caring and professional service to their clients and pets. We strive to providing the very best first opinion veterinary care while creating a warm and welcoming environment for our teams, our patients and their owners.

Your day at Lakeview Vets could include:

• Welcoming clients and their pets upon arrival
• Book appointments and arrivals
• Help to promote our Healthcare Plan so that pets are receiving premium discounted preventative treatment
• Booking in follow up appointments for the pet once they have left their initial consultation
• Help the Vet and Nurse team with queries
• Being responsible for paperwork being scanned onto pets digital records
• Liaison with clients regarding queries for appointment booking and medication collection
• Ordering food and medication
• Taking payment following treatment
• Managing an extremely busy reception desk with efficiency and professionalism

Ideally you will have:

• Previous experience working as a Veterinary Receptionist
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational abilities and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service
• Be proficient in computer systems and software, having experience using RxWorks is a MASSIVE plus!
• Must enjoy cuddling pet - pets are everything to our amazing teams

This is a full time position, working 30-40 hours per week with a share of 1:6 Saturday mornings.

This role will be a dual role between supporting the vet and nurse teams with patient care, and then time on Reception. You will be required to maintain a clean and hygienic environment at all times, assist with animal handling, answer the phone, book appointments, taking payments and deal with client queries alongside other duties.

You must have a professional and kind phone manner and be capable at working both on your own and within a team.
