Job summary

Vets Now is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Nurse in Stirling to join our emergency team. You will work weekends with extended night shifts on a rotating schedule, contributing to high-quality emergency care while developing ECC expertise and balancing other commitments.

A role that supports professional growth through CPD and ECC certificate access, with competitive benefits. The position offers weekend coverage with shifts starting Friday evening through Sunday night and additional bank holidays.

Qualifications

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• ECC experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assist in clinical treatment, including surgery and anaesthesia.
• In-patient care and monitoring of patients.
• Provide First Aid advice over the phone and in clinic; perform basic diagnostics in sole charge capacity.

Up to £17ph DOE plus benefits

Working hours:

Week 1: Off

Week 2: Saturday and Sunday from 19:00 to 09:00

Week 3: Off

Week 4: Friday from 18:00 to 08:30 and Saturday and Sunday from 19:00 to 09:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics - confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
