Job summary

Vets Now is the UK's leading provider of emergency pet care with 60+ out‑of‑hours clinics and 24/7 hospitals. This weekend role supports our ECC team, enabling you to gain further ECC knowledge while balancing family commitments and earning a second income.

You will work with a dedicated nursing team, taking on triage, basic diagnostics, and patient care responsibilities, with access to professional qualifications and CPD support.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• First Aid – provide appropriate advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Critical Care – monitor major body systems, track in‑patient trends, manage pain, wound care.
• Diagnostics – perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in‑patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics - confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.

• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
