Job summary

Vets Now Cheltenham is seeking a Sunday Veterinary Nurse to join their emergency team, with every other Sunday from 08:30 to 19:30 and a fair share of bank holidays.

The role focuses on triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care, offering an opportunity to develop ECC skills, access to CPD, and benefits such as private medical insurance and enhanced leave.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration is required.
• Availability for weekend Sundays.
• Experience with or willingness to learn ECC is advantageous.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.


• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.


• Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.


• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.


• Passionate about caring for our candidates and their pets.


• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
