Job summary

Vets Now is seeking a Weekend Veterinary Nurse for our Barnet clinic. This role focuses on emergency care and requires RCVS registration and ECC experience. You will be involved in triage, anaesthesia support, and in-patient care during weekend shifts.

The position offers up to £20 per hour depending on experience, with bank holiday benefits and CPD support to develop ECC qualifications within a busy out-of-hours environment.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration for at least six months is required.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
• ECC caseload experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• First aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Critical care management and monitoring of major body systems, patient trends, pain assessment and wound care.
• Diagnostics: perform basic procedures in sole charge capacity.

Working hours:

Every other weekend working Saturday from 12:00 to 19:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 19:30.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
