Job summary

Vets Now is hiring a Weekend Veterinary Nurse in Worcester to join our emergency care team. The role offers weekend shifts with structured hours, competitive hourly pay up to £17ph DOE plus benefits, and a focus on ECC knowledge development. Duties include triage, anesthesia, surgery support and in-patient care, with a supportive CPD package.

The successful candidate will be RCVS registered and motivated to maintain high clinic standards, with experience in ECC desirable.

Weekend Veterinary Nurse – Worcester

Up to £17ph DOE plus benefits

Working hours:

Role 1

Every other weekend working Saturday from 16:00 to 22:00 and Sunday from 18:00 to 00:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.

Role 2

Week 1: Off

Week 2: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Week 3: Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30

Week 4: Off

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.


• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.


• Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.


• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.


• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.


• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
