Job summary

Vets Now is looking for a Veterinary Nurse for weekend shifts in Southampton. The role allows flexibility with working as little as two shifts per month while supporting your professional development. Responsibilities include managing critical care, providing first aid, and performing basic diagnostics. A weekend role with Vets Now allows you to further your ECC knowledge, whilst gaining a second income or balancing family commitments. You can work as little as two shifts per month, our current available hours are listed below.

Working hours:

• Week 1: Off
• Week 2, 3 and 4 – Sunday from 09:00 to 18:00

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in‑patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in‑patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
