Job summary

Vets Now, the UK’s leading provider of emergency pet care, is seeking a Full Time Roving Veterinary Nurse to join our team. You will work across Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth clinics, delivering triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care.

RCVS registration required with a minimum six months; ECC experience is advantageous. We offer private medical insurance, excellent CPD, generous leave (7 weeks + birthday day off), a pension, and a 1125 CPD allowance.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration is required.
• Six months minimum continuous registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care.
• First Aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Monitor critical care and track patient trends.
• Carry out basic diagnostics in a sole charge capacity.

Vets Now is the UK’s leading provider of emergency pet care, serving over 1700 veterinary practices through 60 plus dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. As a roving Veterinary Nurse you will work across several Vets Now clinics, these are; Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Working pattern

A full-time role with Vets Now comprises of 40 hours per week, working a mixture of weeknights and 1:2 weekends. As this is a roving position you will work across our Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth clinics.
