Vets Now is the UK's leading provider of emergency pet care, with roving Veterinary Nurse roles across Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth. You will be involved in triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care, delivering high standards of nursing across multiple clinics.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a mix of weeknights and 1:2 weekends. We offer ECC certificate support, CPD, private medical insurance and generous leave, with a commitment to inclusion and disability

Qualifications

• RCVS registration in good standing.
• ECC certificate is a plus.
• Willingness to work across multiple clinics (roving role).

Responsibilities

• Triage and provide nursing care in clinic and over the phone.
• Critical care management and monitoring of in-patient trends; pain and wound care.
• Assist with diagnostics and basic procedures in sole charge capacity.
• Maintain high clinic standards and commitment to client and pet care.

Job description

Vets Now is the UK's leading provider of emergency pet care, serving over 1700 veterinary practices through 60 plus dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. As a roving Veterinary Nurse you will work across several Vets Now clinics, these are; Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth. Understanding your key role Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

• First Aid - give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
• Critical Care - management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
• Diagnostics - confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity. RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Working pattern

A full-time role with Vets Now comprises of 40 hours per week, working a mixture of weeknights and 1:2 weekends. As this is a roving position you will work across our Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth clinics. Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
