Reports to: Senior Veterinary Development Manager

Professional Registration/Membership Required: MRCVS

Position Overview:

As a Veterinary Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Practice owners and teams across practices in your region. By collaborating with multiple teams, you will build strong relationships with practice owners and provide essential veterinary support and guidance to ensure high-quality veterinary care and regulatory compliance. As part of the broader Pets business, you will help create connections with our pet care centres, promoting collaboration and synergy between veterinary services and other pet care offerings.

About you:

  • MRCVS with extensive clinical experience
  • Strong understanding of veterinary practice standards and regulatory compliance

The outline of responsibilities:

  • Provide veterinary guidance and support to practice owners, practice colleagues, and where required, Retail team colleagues to aid maintenance of high standards of veterinary care.
  • Conduct regular, collaborative veterinary reviews of practices, supporting adherence to regulatory requirements, RCVS guidance, Practice Standards, and Quality Improvement.
  • Offer regional support to practice teams, collaborating with operations teams to identify areas to support further improvement and implement effective strategies.
  • Lead and support business projects as the trusted veterinary advisor, providing valuable insights and ensuring veterinary considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with practice owners and practice colleagues to establish strong working relationships and be recognised as a trusted veterinary advisor.
  • Work closely with the QI team to identify opportunities for process optimisation and share best practices across the organisation, contributing to the continuous improvement of veterinary care.
  • Ensure practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements, monitor adherence to legislation, and advise on necessary changes or improvements.
  • Identify training needs within the region and work closely with the Veterinary Education team to design and deliver appropriate training programs. Promote Clinical Academy to veterinary teams.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices, and share relevant information with practice owners and practice teams.
  • This a ‘field based' role covering around 80 practices in Central UK. Frequent travel will be required, and the role comes with a company car to support this. You will also be expected to attend team meetings at our office hubs (Handforth, Bristol, Swindon) when required.
