Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD in Godalming, Surrey, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / VAG Specialist to join our independent garage. You will carry out routine servicing, complex mechanical repairs, timing chain/belt replacements, and systematic diagnostics on VAG vehicles using official ODIS software.

Requirements include NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair and proven workshop experience on Audi, VW, SEAT, Škoda. A full UK driving licence and your own hand tools are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or time-served equivalent.
• Proven workshop experience on VAG platforms (Audi, VW, SEAT, Škoda).
• Hands-on diagnostics, routine maintenance and mechanical repair knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and complex mechanical repairs on VAG vehicles.
• Perform timing chain/belt replacements and diagnostic troubleshooting to high industry standards.
• Use official ODIS software and dealer-level tools for diagnostics across VAG platforms.

• Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 basic per annum (tailored directly to your hands‑on experience and technical skill level)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (100% WEEKEND FREEDOM with strictly zero weekend shifts required!)

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / VAG Specialist to join our established independent garage and service centre team in Godalming. You will carry out routine servicing, complex mechanical repairs, timing chain/belt replacements, and systematic diagnostic troubleshooting using official ODIS software across VAG platforms and general customer vehicles to high industry standards.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or City & Guilds / time‑served equivalent) with proven workshop experience on VAG platforms (Audi, VW, SEAT, Škoda)
• Solid foundational knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, routine maintenance, and mechanical repair
• Valid DVSA MOT Smart Card or F‑Gas certification is advantageous, but not essential
• Full UK driving licence & own hand tools
