Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is looking for a Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles, with the opportunity to gain an MOT Tester licence. You’ll work on diagnostics, clutch and timing belt replacements and prepare cars for MOT tests.

The role offers a base salary up to £34,640 with on-target earnings up to £41,240, plus an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,600 per year and an attractive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop environment.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work and more complex repairs and replacements.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repair and diagnostic work to DVSA standards.
• Carry out MOT testing on vehicles once qualified.
• Tackle complex repairs including clutch and timing belt replacements.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standard and safe for customers.
