Job summary

Halfords Autocentres is recruiting Vehicle Technicians. The role offers a base salary of £33,000–£36,000 with an uncapped bonus averaging £6,600 per year, plus a salary uplift on MOT Tester qualification. You’ll service and repair vehicles, progressing toward MOT testing duties and training from the outset.

Applicants should have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, 4+ years in a workshop, a clean licence (<=9 points), and the willingness to pursue MOT Tester training. The position includes generous leave and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles in a workshop environment.
• Able to carry out complex repairs and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repair work, including complex tasks like clutch and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out DVSA MOT testing and related vehicle inspections.
• Diagnose faults across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Support progression to MOT Tester qualification and training.
