Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Barry seeks an experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our independent garage team. You will perform servicing, brake overhauls, clutch replacements, timing belts, and general repairs using modern diagnostic tools.

We offer a £35,000–£40,000 basic salary, Monday–Friday 08:00–17:30 with zero weekend shifts, on-site parking, and a supportive workshop culture where your skills are valued.

Qualifications

• NVQ / IMI Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Proven track record as Vehicle Technician or Mechanic in a professional workshop.
• F‑Gas certification preferred (or interest in obtaining it).
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Active MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.
• Must possess your own hand tools; high attention to detail and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, brake overhauls, clutch replacements, timing belts, and general mechanical repairs.
• Utilize modern diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve faults.
• Maintain high standards of work to ensure first-time fix and workshop productivity.
• Work collaboratively with the team to keep workflow smooth and uphold customer trust.
