Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Leicester Workshop is recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic on a permanent contract. You will join a large fleet operation and work in a modern commercial vehicle workshop, with a 39.5-hour week and a rotating shift pattern. You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays.

The role offers a base salary of £40,906 with a weekly shift allowance for 13:30 - 22:00 shifts, a weekend supplement, a pension scheme, training and development, PPE, and discounts for you and the family.

Qualifications

• Qualified Level 3 mechanic for light or heavy vehicles.
• Own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Experience on a wide range of vehicles including LCV/HGV.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Use your own toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs.
• Access to specialist tooling in modern workshops.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at LeicesterWorkshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £60k including overtime

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; weeks 1 & 2: 06:00 - 14:30, week 3: 13:30 - 22:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off)

Responsibilities

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
