Job summary

Royal Mail in Walton-on-Thames is seeking a Level 3 qualified mechanic for a permanent role at our workshop. You will perform a full range of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and trailers, using your own toolkit.

You’ll work a 39.5-hour week with a rotating shift pattern and a starting salary of £45,675 per year plus overtime potential, with pension, training and exclusive discounts for you and your family.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified mechanic at advanced level (Level 3) with own toolkit.
• Valued experience on a range of vehicles, including LCV/HGV.
• Valid UK manual driving licence; HGV licence with trailer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Use your own toolkit for standard repairs and access specialist tooling in modern workshops.

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Walton On ThamesWorkshop on a Permanentcontract, with the potential to earn up to £50,000

Working Hours: Full time

• 39.5 hours per week, rotating shift pattern. Week 1 06:00 – 14:24 and Week 2 09:36 – 18:00

A bit about the role

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
• Experienced in EVs and MOT testing (advantageous) , however training can be provided.
