Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Leicester is seeking a Level 3 qualified mechanic to join our Vehicle Technician team at LeicesterWorkshop on a permanent contract. You can earn up to £60k with overtime, with a 39.5 hour week and a rotating shift pattern. A strong pension, training plan, and PPE are provided.

You will inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair a variety of vehicles, trailers and equipment, using your own toolkit and access to modern workshops. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified mechanic to Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicles or equivalent.
• Experience working on a wide range of vehicles, including LCVs and HGVs.
• Hold a full manual UK driving licence; HGV/trailer experience preferred.
• Take pride in high workmanship standards and adapt to service demands.
• Have your own toolkit for standard repairs.

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs with your own toolkit.
• Access specialist tooling and shared equipment in modern workshops.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic atLeicesterWorkshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £60k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1 & 2: 06:00 - 14:30, week 3: 13:30 - 22:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off)

You'll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
You'll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
You'll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.
