Job summary

Government of The United Kingdom in England seeks a skilled Vehicle Technician to join a busy Workshop Team. You will inspect, service, maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles and plant to keep our fleet safe and available for frontline services.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse fleet across the Borough, with emphasis on high safety standards and collaborative teamwork within a busy public sector environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safety inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and plant.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing and undertake MOT tests where qualified.
• Complete servicing records, inspection reports and defect documentation accurately.
• Participate in vehicle and plant recovery operations when required.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance and emergency response activities, including winter maintenance support.
• Work to high health and safety standards while contributing to a positive team environment.

Job description

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of vehicles and plant, including cars, vans, HGVs, refuse collection vehicles and specialist equipment. You will help ensure our fleet remains safe, compliant and available to support frontline services., You will:
