Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic for our Peterborough centre. You’ll service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics and handle complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt work, brakes and electrical systems.

You’ll join a growing team at our Fusion centre with a strong bonus scheme and opportunities to progress within Halfords’ Garage Services.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full driving licence with no more than 9 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repair and replacement work.
• Perform diagnostics, including brakes, steering/suspension and engine areas.
• Tackle more complex repairs and replacements as needed.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
