Job summary

WALLACE HIND SELECTION LIMITED in Peterborough is seeking a Vehicle Technician to service and repair a wide range of makes and models, from routine maintenance to complex diagnostics.

You will own your area of work, diagnose faults, service and maintain vehicles, coordinate with parts, and mentor apprentices as required.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £45,000 and opportunities for accreditation training and overtime.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a vehicle maintenance/repair discipline.
• Higher-level diagnostic training or senior diagnostic experience.
• Full, valid driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team and support junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Identify and rectify in-depth and complex diagnostic faults.
• Carry out service, maintenance and repairs across cars and LGVs.
• Liaise with Parts Department to ensure efficient job completion.
• Complete job cards, service sheets, clocking and documentation accurately.
• Keep workspace clean, tidy and organised.
• Maintain up-to-date product and technical knowledge and attend training as required.
• Support and mentor apprentices and other team members when required.

We're looking for a Vehicle Technician to join the team at our Peterborough depot. You'll be working across a wide range of makes and models, carrying out everything from routine servicing and maintenance through to complex diagnostic repairs.

BASIC SALARY:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As our Vehicle Technician, you'll take ownership of your own area of work and will be trusted to complete the job to a high standard.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and rectifying in-depth and complex diagnostic faults.
• Carrying out service, maintenance and repairs across a range of cars and LGVs.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a vehicle and, more importantly, knows how to find the fault when things aren't straightforward.

Ideally, you'll have:

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant vehicle maintenance/repair discipline, or strong proven experience.
• Higher-level diagnostic training or previous experience in a similar senior diagnostic role.
• A full, valid driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team and support less experienced technicians.
