Job summary

Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Light Vehicle Technician based near Peterborough. You will service and repair light vehicles and trailers, with diagnostic fault finding and maintenance taking the lead on your workload.

The role offers a salary of £32,000-£42,000 dependent on experience, weekly pay, a bonus scheme and a private healthcare package, with ongoing training and development within a family-run business.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds) qualified technician or equivalent
• Recent experience in motor trade (within last 2 years)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• HGV licence beneficial but not essential
• Own tools are essential

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to light vehicles and trailers
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
• MOT preparation work
• Attending roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles when required
• Liaising with the parts department to source required components
• Completing job cards and service documentation accurately
• Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safe working practices
• Following all customer site procedures and health & safety regulations
• Keeping up to date with product knowledge and attending training courses

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00

The Role

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will take ownership of your workload and be confident working independently on a wide range of customer vehicles and trailers. Previous diagnostic and fault-finding experience would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualified Technician or equivalent industry experience
• Recent experience within the motor trade in a similar role (within the last 2 years)
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• HGV Licence beneficial but not essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Flexible and proactive approach to work
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
• Own tools are essential
