Job summary

Halfords, the UK’s leading automotive services retailer, is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in our Autocentre. You’ll service, repair and replace parts, and handle more complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts and diagnostics.

A Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served is required, plus a full UK driving licence (no more than 9 points). We offer progression, hybrid training, and a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive base salary with an uncapped

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Tackle more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics.
• Diagnose vehicle electrics, brakes, steering and suspension systems.

Job description

• On-target earnings up to £42,420
• Comprising a base salary of £31,480 - £36,620
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £5,800 per year.
• 5 days a week (This centre is closed on Sundays)

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills And Experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
